Our Mission: Communication for All

Leah Toal, M.Ed., M.S. CCC-SLP/L is not your average speech pathologist. With a heart as big as her passion for communication, she's taken her profession to new heights, making a profound impact on the lives of those who need it most. Leah's journey began in the realm of speech therapy, but her story is one of innovation, compassion, and the relentless pursuit of inclusivity.

In 2015, Leah started her career as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist, armed with the knowledge and dedication to help individuals find their voice. She initially focused on early intervention but soon discovered her true calling lay with children aged 5 to 9, particularly those diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

However, Leah's mission extended far beyond her role in the classroom. She recognized that the power of communication didn't stop at the school gates. She saw the need for tools that could bridge the gap between therapy sessions and the everyday lives of her students, especially those who were nonverbal. With unwavering determination, she embarked on a new journey.

Leah started creating communication boards as a way to empower her students and their families. Her dedication to these boards was personal; she wanted every child she worked with to have a voice, to be heard, and to connect with their loved ones. The first board she crafted was for her own school. It didn't take long for other schools and educators to catch wind of these transformative communication tools. Soon enough, everyone wanted one of Leah's boards and her small side business was rapidly becoming a movement.

As demand increased, Leah knew she needed a partner in this incredible venture. Enter her husband, Matt, a seasoned expert in mass media and the healthcare field. Together, they harnessed their skills, their love, and their shared belief in the power of communication to create something extraordinary.

Today, Leah and Matt are the driving force behind "Peep Speech." Their communication board concept has found its way into schools, community playgrounds, and healthcare systems. What began as a small project born out of love has evolved into a flourishing business, all while Leah continued her role as a devoted wife, caring mother to two boys, and a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist at a local elementary school.

Join Leah in her mission to create exclusive spaces for all, where every voice matters, and every connection is cherished. Together, we can ensure that no one is left unheard, and that everyone has the opportunity to communicate, connect, and thrive.
